Founded by Mariano Diaz and Nicholas Skeval and operating out of Brighton, Colorado, and Syracuse, New York, Tipsy Tees is an American startup introducing a revolutionary concept: injection-molded golf tees engineered to bridge the gap between high-level utility and social fun.
But the story behind the product is just as important as the product itself.
How It All Started
Tipsy Tees began in the summer of 2025 with a bold idea: create a golf product that blends competition with the social side of the game.
Co-founders Nicholas Skeval and Mariano Diaz met in 2022 while playing college baseball and quickly bonded over a shared entrepreneurial mindset. In 2025, Nicholas introduced an unusual concept—a golf tee that could hold liquid while still functioning like a real tee.
What sounded simple proved challenging. Early prototypes were 3D printed and shipped back and forth for testing, with constant revisions to make the idea viable.
After multiple iterations, they achieved a breakthrough: a tee that could hold a 3/4-ounce shot while still performing on impact.
They brought early versions to a golf outing in Ohio later that summer, where the response was immediate and overwhelmingly positive.
That’s when Tipsy Tees became more than just an idea.
